The wedding of Basil and Maria Shnoudi, held at Cedar Oaks Farm in Bedford, VA, was the first event I ever had the pleasure of working on with the Erin Cleveland Events Team. It was a momentous day, in every sense of the word.

The perfect introduction–the awe-inspiring view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a defining feature of the venue, appeared as profound and soul-stirring as always on this particular day. However, what was most captivating was their strong faith, rich culture, and unwavering familial love. A permanent smile spread across my face as we witnessed the pure emotion in their prayers and, later, the joyous celebration of culture and tradition on the dance floor & throughout.

In keeping with this tone, it warmed our hearts to witness the reunion of family and wedding guests alike, flown in from all over the world. Even their wedding favor, olive oil packaged in individual vials, was brought by the groom’s family from Jordan. These characteristics made the already stunning cedar reception room feel ever-so inviting. Their design elements also contributed to a homey, minimalistic structure in the space: white candlesticks and varying sizes of vases filled with unique white and green florals. Their dishware stood out to me as well in its simple black and white contrast–a subtle yet intentional addition to the tables.

In every aspect, Basil and Maria’s wedding was a true celebration of love and life, capturing the essence of togetherness. When I look back on that significant day, I am filled with inspiration and deep gratitude.
