Aside from one’s wedding day, one of the most anticipated days for both the bride and her
planner is when the wedding photos come in! We, the Erin Cleveland Events Team, love to go
through the album and reminisce on all of the cherished memories made. Most often, the flat lay
photos that show the bridal details are one of our top picks. Detail shots are all-encompassing in
that they capture the aesthetic of the event as well as the tone of the couple themselves.
Prior to wedding day, it’s important to nail down the specific items you’ll want your photographer to include in the detail shots. We often see brides use their invitation stationery, florals, wedding shoes, perfume, and, of course, THE ring (amongst other jewelry). While this is a great place to start, it’s important to remember the soul these shots have the potential of bringing. Our best advice is to have fun with it…nothing is off limits, if it’s going to remind you of your special day!
To inspire such creativity, we thought we’d put together a little list of possible items to include:
Your photographer should then arrange such items in a way that will capture the essence of you (and your wedding). PRO TIP: place all of your items into a small box for your photographer and keep it with you or give it to your planner so it’s ready to go when they arrive!
On the day you finally get your wedding photos back, you will be so grateful to have all your favorite details to hold onto, in the form of your flat lay shots.
Xx,
Lizzie
