My mother used to say that the best thing about living in Virginia is getting to experience four seasons, in full. I would argue that, while this is true, there is NOTHING in this world quite like a fall in VA. My opinion could practically be considered fact, when taking into account Virginia’s mountain views, colorful foliage, and ever-so slightly crisp air. Jena and Dylan Ford must’ve thought so too…choosing the perfect fall 2023 day for their beautiful wedding at The Seclusion!
We worked with Jena + Dylan in a full planning capacity. Full planning allows us to be there with you, from the beginning, gathering your vision/vibe and making it come to life for the day-of! Jena and Dylan’s day wound up being romantic, rustic, and homey, perfectly encapsulating their energy as a couple.
As you enter the wedding site, after driving up the mountain, you can begin to notice how unique the venue itself is. The Seclusion does rustic and homey really well, but maintains an eclectic elegance all the while. That’s why, in my opinion, Jena and Dylan’s day came together so wonderfully–they truly found a venue that fit them as a couple and achieved their vision. Playing to their classy quirkiness, the venue proved to be the perfect setting for a couple willing to experiment with fun decorative elements. They had the coolest vintage-looking audio guestbook as well as outdoor antique furniture people sat in/used as a photo op. The Seclusion, in and of itself, provides elevated mountain views, showcasing some of the most colorful rolling hills I have ever seen. To match, Jena’s florals were of the mixed variety. The arrangement was infused with the most stunning combination of fall colors: deep red, pale pink, gold, yellow, orange, peach, and dark green.
As suggested in our last journal, they went with the dessert bar option to top off their night. As you can expect, it was a hit. Their selection included brownies, cake shooters, cookies, & macaroons (oh my!). The late night snack, however, was truly unmatched, leaving the most lasting impression. They went with brie & apple butter grilled cheeses and individual flatbreads. In our opinion, providing late night food is ALWAYS a good idea. Working closely with Jena and Dylan in planning their wedding, we saw their romantic, rustic, and cozy vision come to life beautifully. Their day captured the essence of a Virginia fall, making it a memorable celebration of love and the season’s charm.

Lizzie
